In June, I travelled north to Michigan to visit with family and to celebrate the life and legacy of one of my precious great aunts.
I always love spending time with my family and this time around was no different, despite the circumstances that brought us together. While in Michigan my mom and I stayed with another one of my great aunts, Mary. Mary's heart is to serve and she is always looking for ways to take care of the people around her. (All of my great aunts are like this.) One evening I stole her away from hosting and captured just a glimpse of her beauty. I love the way these pictures turned out because when I look at them I see strength and grace and hope. I hope you enjoy the photos of Mary as well as a couple pictures of her brother, my sweet Uncle Bill, and just part of our huge family!

Marble centerpieces, copper accents, succulents, creme brûleé, an unbelievable food spread and so much more. This past weekend we had the opportunity to celebrate one of the most selfless, beautiful girls as she prepares to marry the love of her life in just under 65 days! I have had the privilege of knowing Faith for almost 6 years now. If anyone deserves to be showered with love it's this girl. This gorgeous shower was orchestrated by Faith's best friend, Felicity. With some help from friends and family Felicity's incredible vision came to life in the form of a shower that fit Faith's personality perfectly. I can't wait to walk you through every perfect detail of the day. The decor. From the beautiful invitations to the succulent "thank you" gifts to the handmade ribbon back drop, no detail was overlooked. The marble centerpieces gave the tables such a classic feel while the copper accents and greenery brought in an earthy feel that highlighted Faith's down-to-earth and elegant personality. The food. The menu for this shower was fresh and unique. All of the dishes were thoroughly thought through and, quite frankly, they were just delicious. From the cheese plate to the cucumber sandwiches to the Kentucky native Ale8, all of Faith's favorites were present, not to mention the presentation was flawless. The Company.Friends and family from four different states gathered to celebrate Faith. The conversation was hilarious, the memories are priceless, and, let me tell you, our girl is loved. The Creme Brûleé.Listen. This creme brûlée deserves it's own title. When my husband and I went on our honeymoon in Paris we had creme brûlée and, let me tell you, this dessert knocked Paris' creme brûlée out of the park. SO GOOD. Games and Gifts. After indulging ourselves in the delicious spread, we took time to mingle before playing games that celebrated our knowledge of the bride and the gifts that she may be receiving. One of the special gifts that Faith received this day was a handkerchief that was given to her mother for her wedding day; this handkerchief belonged to Faith's great-great grandmother.
I first met Brianna when she was a freshman at Kentucky Christian University. Over the past four years this girl has grown in her compassion for others, in her knowledge and she now also has her Bachelors of Social Work. It was such a fun (and really stinkin' hot) day when we got together for these pictures but I am so pleased with the cap and gown portraits that we captured. Keep Bri in your prayers as she pursues her Masters of Social Work at the Ohio State University.
This girl is going to do amazing things!! One of my favorite memories from high school is having the opportunity to get all dolled up for school dances. From taking the time to find the perfect dress to helping my friends with last minute hair and make up touch ups, I loved those nights of dressing way fancier than normal and making memories with my favorite people. This spring I had the opportunity to work with several individuals, couples and groups for their prom pictures. While prom season has come and gone I still wanted to make sure to share some of these beautiful people with you because they were stunning. I hope you enjoy a small portion of the magic that we captured on these days, I know that I did!
