Dr. Austin Allen

I started this blog post back in May shortly after Austin graduated Medical School. In all of the chaos of COVID I forgot to post it but these pictures (and this incredible accomplishment) are so worth celebrating.
I took the time to do the math and I've known this guy for close to eleven years now. WOW. Austin has accomplished so much in that time and I know that this is just the start for him. He is not only an incredibly kind and genuine human being but he is so intelligent and will be the best OBGYN. Be sure to follow him on Instagram (@ahallen.do) to follow his journey and to also learn some amazing things about reproductive health and women's health. Congratulations again Austin! I wish you all the best.

Culley Family Portrait Session

4/7/2020

Family sessions have posed as a challenge for me in the past because it takes A LOT of energy to keep up with all of the different members of a family and to get everyone to pay attention during photos (especially when dealing with younger kids). But sometimes you get a family that you absolutely click with and those sessions will become some of your absolute favorites. Jacqueline and her family received a Kelli Cornelia Photography Gift Certificate from their neighbor for Christmas and I'm so glad that she did! This sweet family was the best to work with and I had such a good time exploring, imagining with and photographing this family.
Lessons learned from this session:
1. Things that have proven difficult in the past may surprise you and end up being super fun and rewarding.
2. You're never too old to play make-believe.
3. Never underestimate the potential of a nice orange garage door.

Pretty Little Seniors: Senior Rep Spooky Shoot

3/30/2020

It's been a tough couple of weeks for these seniors. Life is so odd for all of us right now but I'm extremely proud of all of these wonderful ladies. Part of being a rep means having me in your corner; this "girl gang" that we've created has served as a place where these girls can laugh, mourn, celebrate and grow together. I don't think any of us could have imagined how this school year would go but I am extremely thankful that we have each other on the best days and the hardest.

These are photos from our "Spooky Shoot" this past fall. The girls came up with the theme and together we created our ideas for hair, make up and wardrobe. I love that the girls used their creativity and talents to help one another prepare for this shoot. We gathered at my house to get ready then headed to our location and shot for a couple hours. The girls knocked this one out of the park and I really just can't wait until we can all get together again. I love my seniors and I hope you love the creativity that they put into this shoot.

Summer Sunflower Senior Session: Chloe

3/29/2020

These cooler spring days have me ready for the warmth of late summer. Sunflower fields, bright colors and happy faces. It feels like it's forever away but I know it's coming, and I can't wait.

Chloe was one of the first Senior Representative that I shot with last summer and she told me there was one thing she absolutely wanted: SUNFLOWERS. Finding sunflowers was a challenge but once we did we had the most beautiful day and experience. We finished the day off playing with some smoke bomb pictures which are always fun to create and experiment with! I can't wait for more experiences like this VERY soon. Come on summer!

Bridal Portrait Re-do: Brandon and Hannah

3/25/2020

When I started putting this blog together my intent was just to showcase a really beautiful and different session that I had the opportunity to be a part of but then I realized that the timing of this post could not be more perfect. So if you are a bride, groom or if you know an engaged couple whose wedding has been put on hold due to COVID-19 - this is for you!

Brandon and Hannah were married in May of 2019 and while they did get to celebrate their wedding day, what they received from their wedding photographer was not what they had hoped for to say the least. I'm talking VERY few portraits of the two of them together and the fact that it rained their ENTIRE wedding day made things less than ideal in a lot of aspects anyway.

Hannah reached out to me and told me that they had been back and forth on it but decided that they wanted a re-do of their bridal portraits! Since they both had purchased their wedding attire it was easy to make this session happen (their wonderful florist even remade the wedding bouquet for this shoot!) and, guys, WE HAD THE BEST DAY TO DO IT. We took photos of them as a couple, individual portraits, as well as all of the bridal details that they had on their wedding day. Brandon's family was even able to come along to take some family portraits that were missed on their wedding day. The weather was PERFECT, they both looked amazing and we got to have all the fun of a bridal portrait shoot with none of the stress and pressure of a wedding day. 10/10 would recommend.

**If you are a bride whose wedding day has been affected by COVID-19, I would love to do a session like this with you once everything passes. Brandon and Hannah went from having a few photos of them together on their wedding day to almost 400 photos from our two hour shoot. These memories are SO worth the effort! If you need convincing just ask these two.**

Gabriella Burton Summer Senior Session

3/5/2020

Gabriella is one of my fantastic senior representatives this year. I've known Gabby for years, I had the privilege of having her in youth group and our friendship grew from there. She loves music, has a style that is all her own (AND IT'S AMAZING) and she cares so deeply about people. When she messaged me wanting to be a senior representative I knew that she would be a perfect representative for Kelli Cornelia Photography. She is all the good things and I love working with her. These are just some of the photos from her first senior session (I returned 215 to her because it was so hard to pick favorites but I did my best). I'll be posting from her other sessions also very soon but for now here's Gabby's summer senior session inspired by the things that Gabby loves most!

Shawn Greenhill Football Session

12/4/2019

This week on the blog is one of my favorite sport sessions of all time. Shawn is a super star (in my personal opinion) although he would probably deny that if I voiced that opinion anywhere near him. This kid truly is remarkable though. Humble, kind, outgoing, friendly, intelligent, a gifted athlete...He is part of numerous clubs and teams at East Carter High School and he also happens to be a Senior Representative for Kelli Cornelia Photography this year. This session was geared solely toward his time on the football team at East and, honestly, I'm really proud of these images. It was cold, like real cold. And that goal post is high... like REAL high but the work we put into this session was worth it. I hope Shawn will be able to look back on these images years from now and remember just how much football and these memories meant to him. Enjoy Shawn's Football Senior Session!

Abby and Christian Couples Shoot

11/20/2019

This week on the blog we have Abby and Christian! I had so much fun with this session because I got to visit a relatively new location to me. If you have never had the chance to visit Cave Run Lake in Morehead, KY - DO IT NOW (or you know when the weather gets warm again). It is an absolutely stunning area and I'm so glad I got to meet with this wonderful couple there. I hope you enjoy the beautiful sunset and the sweet moments from this session!

Mackenzie Moore Senior 2020

11/5/2019

Mackenzie booked her fall session with me almost three months in advanced so we were able to SUPER prepare for this shoot and IT. WAS. AMAZING. Prior to the shoot Mackenzie and her mom walked through the exact locations that she wanted to shoot at, each one holding a special memory and meaning for her at her grandparent's cabin. We were able to incorporate so many elements of Mackenzie's life and I love this session even more because of that! We were able to incorporate her creativity, her love for Harry Potter, her incredible sense of style, her grandfathers old truck and we got to do all of that at one of her favorite places.  After her shoot we sat around a campfire with her whole family and talked about memories that they had at this beautiful cabin and this is why I love what I do. Building relationships with wonderful people and getting to learn so much about the amazing individuals that I get to work with is the best. I hope you LOVE Mackenzie's portraits as much as I do.

This school year I have selected 8 amazing seniors to represent Kelli Cornelia Photography. Kate was one of the first seniors to contact me about being a representative and I knew that she was exactly what I was looking for when it came to my senior rep program.  She is kind, SO fun, energetic, gorgeous and she has such unique and fun ideas for her photo sessions. Here are some of my favorite images from the two sessions that we've done so far this year. I hope you love her portraits!
